THE Court of Appeals (CA) has turned down a motion filed by a suspected financier of the international terror group Jema’ah Islamiyah (JI) to lift the six-month freeze order issued against his bank accounts.

In a three-page resolution, CA’s Former First Division through Associate Justice Mariflor Punzalan-Castillo held that the motions for reconsideration filed by Eduard Guerra, alias Abraham Yap Alonto, and his wife Jocelyn, failed to raise new arguments that would warrant the reversal of the court’s January 19, 2012 resolution.
