ZAMBOANGA CITY — Suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels have seized six people, including a security agency manager and a child, in the province of Davao del Norte, a military official reported Tuesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Lyndon Paniza, Army’s 10th Infantry Division spokesman, said the incident happened around 8 p.m. Monday at Orange Valley Subdivision in Tagum City, the capital of Davao del Norte.

A LONE gunman killed a village official, who was known to be a staunch supporter of a defeated mayoralty aspirant in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, police officials said Monday.

Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman for Zamboanga Peninsula police, said the killing happened around 12 noon Sunday in the village of west Migpulao, Dinas municipality.

THE hide-and-seek play of two brothers aged 12 and eight ended in the tragic death of the younger child in a remote village of Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police reported Monday.
